Who's Movin' And Shakin' In April April started off on a "C" note, so to speak. The street rapper known as C-Murder changed his name and will now be known as C Miller, in reflection of his true name, Corey Miller. Miller states that his previous alias, meant to reflect the fact that he'd seen numerous murders while growing up in the projects, possibly had something to do with his conviction and life sentencing in response to the murder of a 16 year old boy outside of a Louisiana night club back in January 2002. Miller was convicted this past September of second-degree murder and faces a lifetime in prison. Miller blames his former alias, C Murder, for the accusations that he was involved and the resulting conviction, saying that he's been targeted because of his name and his family's success. This month Nirvana got a taste of their name! The U.S. Library Of Congress added Nirvana's album "Nevermind" to a special vault within. The U.S. Library Of Congress must deem recordings to be "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant in order to be inducted. Another requirement is that the recording be at least 10 years old, according to the BBC. In other Nirvana news, Kurt Cobain's hometown, Aberdeen, Washington, placed the classic single title "Come As You Are" on the town's welcome sign. The ceremony took place on April 5, 2005, the 11th anniversary of Cobain's untimely death. On April 20th our hearts broke when the news of Brian Ottoson's death, lead guitarist for American Head Charge, surfaced all over the music industry. On April 19th, Ottoson was found dead on the tour bus, causes unknown. As of this publication date, they are still awaiting the autopsy results. Amercian Head Charge got their start as a Minneapolis based industrial metal band when Martin Cock and Chad Hanks met in a Minnesota rehab nine years ago. During April we also watched the Michael Jackson case intently. This story seemed to take hold of the American public in much the same way the O.J. Simpson case did. As the mother of the accuser took the stand, America held their breath in anticipation. As this case develops over the months, I will keep you all informed of the important points. I will not continue on and on, for this is a case I am sure we all get enough of daily! TOUR DATES MAY 2005 Looking for that particular show? Here's your chance to see who is playing where and when!
